Phase 1: Identity Deep-Dive (Brainstorming)
We begin by reviewing the Brainstorming Guide together. I ask targeted questions to help your student move past common topics and uncover a story that reflects their values and intellectual curiosity.
Outcome: A compelling topic, a clear direction, and the confidence to begin writing..
Phase 2: Narrative Architecture (Outlining)
Before writing begins, we map out the full structure of the essay. We choose the best Common App prompt, define where the action takes place, and make sure the second half of the essay is focused on growth and reflection.
Outcome: A clear roadmap for the essay, so your student never has to wonder what comes next.
Phase 3: Discovery Draft (Macro-Editing)
Your student writes the first full version of the essay. I provide feedback on content, tone, and structure to make sure it aligns with their voice and message.
Outcome: A complete first draft with a strong foundation for revision.
Phase 4: Sculpting (Micro-Editing)
We revise the draft line-by-line to strengthen flow, transitions, and sentence variety. I help refine the language without losing their voice.
Outcome: A nearly finished essay that reads smoothly and sounds like them.
Phase 5: Final Polish Together, we finalize the word count, tighten phrasing, and ensure grammar, punctuation, and formatting are clean. The final result is ready for submission.
Outcome: A strong, polished Common App essay that’s fully complete and ready for submission with confidence.

What's Included
This package is focused entirely on the Common Application Personal Statement that nearly every school requires. It’s a single essay with a word limit of 650 words, and it carries significant weight in the admissions process.
We work together to shape one standout essay that speaks to your student’s character, experiences, and growth — without repeating their resume or sounding manufactured.
Scope:
This package covers only one essay — the main Personal Statement used in the Common App.
Need help with supplemental essays?
Many students do.
Once the Common App essay is complete, additional coaching is available for supplemental essays, scholarship essays, and other application writing.
We'll determine the best option based on your student's application list.
Package Price: $1,600
This includes the full 5-phase coaching process and up to three rounds of revision and feedback. Most students complete their essays within this scope.
If more support is needed beyond that, additional rounds can be added for $150 each.
